CNotepad is a free, browser-based workspace for people who think in fragments. Instead of forcing ideas into a single long document, it gives you an infinite canvas where each thought lives on its own sticky note. You can move notes around, group them, organise them into tabs, and colour-code them until the layout actually matches how the idea sits in your head.
The site was built for three everyday situations: capturing a messy stream of thoughts without losing track of them, planning a small project without booting up a heavyweight app, and keeping casual notes that do not need to sync to anyone's cloud. Everything runs in the browser. There is no sign-up, no account, and nothing to install.
CNotepad is aimed at students revising for exams, people running side projects, writers outlining chapters, meeting-heavy workers who need a scratchpad, and anyone who has ever wished their notes app looked more like a physical corkboard. It is deliberately simple. If you need shared workspaces, version history, or real-time collaboration, a full-featured note app will serve you better.
Place notes anywhere on the canvas and drag them into the arrangement that makes sense to you.
Keep separate projects, topics, or days in their own tab. Each tab has its own independent layout.
Use five note colours to build visual groupings at a glance.
Start from pre-built layouts for Kanban boards, meeting notes, brainstorming, and project planning.
Find any note across every tab as you type.
Once the page has loaded, everything keeps working without a connection. Notes are saved locally.
The interface adapts to phones and tablets with touch support.
Deleted a note by mistake? Restore it from the in-app Trash before emptying it.
Alongside the main notepad, cnotepad.com hosts two small companion tools:
Both follow the same rule as the notepad: your entries never leave the browser.
The written guides on this site are produced in-house. We stay within the topics the site is built around — note-taking, productivity, typing practice, and light self-reflection — and we edit for clarity before publishing. Pages are reviewed periodically and the review date is shown at the top of each article. When the underlying web standards or tool behaviour changes, we update the affected pages rather than leave stale instructions in place.
We do not publish sponsored reviews, paid placements, or content supplied by third parties without a clear label.
The notes, mood entries, and typing history you create stay in your browser's local storage. We do use privacy-respecting analytics and advertising partners to keep the site free; full details are in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
CNotepad is built with standard HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. There is no backend that holds your content and no framework runtime to download before the page becomes useful. That keeps the site fast, accessible on older devices, and easy to keep running for a long time.
If you want to get more from your notes, we have a small library of practical guides on topics such as note-taking methods, kanban, brainstorming, meeting notes, typing practice, and focused work. Start at the Guides index.
